The Opportunity 

We now seek an enthusiastic and experienced Fire Engineer to join our Fire Engineering team.
This is a permanent full time position which offers long-term career growth and opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities Include: 

  • Apply your fire engineering knowledge and experience to develop fire safety solutions with a client centred focus.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, certifiers, engineers and authorities to identify project needs and opportunities and then develop appropriate fire engineered Performance Solutions that fulfil the stakeholders’ objectives.
  • Prepare Fire Engineering Strategies, Briefs and Reports documenting Performance Solutions to the BCA.
  • Undertake fire safety audits of existing buildings and facilities.
  • Communicate complex engineering and building code principles and applications to lay persons.
  • Undertake Continual Professional Development in accordance with those requirements set down by the Institution of Engineers Australia.
  • Interact with staff in a constructive way, to share experience and build up the knowledge and experience throughout our organisation.
  • QA checks and verification of documentation produced by other BCA Logic consultants.
  • Negotiate with authorities and project teams.
  • Undertake fire engineering assessments by calculation and modelling.

Our assessment criteria for this position will include:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Fire Engineer in a similar role and demonstrate ability and experience in fire safety engineering.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications – ie post graduate qualification in fire safety engineering or equivalent overseas qualification.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to write complex and detailed reports that are accurate, complete and comprehensible.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer or the necessary skills, education and experience to become registered in the near future.
  • Team-oriented, with demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with people of all levels and experience.
