FIRE SAFETY ENGINEERING
BCA Logic is one of the few companies that have a qualified Fire Safety Engineer as a key member of its organisation. Mr Allan Harriman has extensive experience in developing Fire Engineered Solutions for existing and new buildings.
Fire Engineering allows the designer the flexibility with respect to design options in existing buildings, without necessarily achieving prescriptive compliance with the deemed-to-satisfy provisions of the BCA. The performance format of the BCA also allows Fire Engineered Solutions to new and existing buildings to be used as a means of evidencing compliance and achieving a suitable level of Fire and Life safety, to satisfy the performance provisions of the BCA.
It should be noted that the deemed-to-satisfy provisions of the BCA generally only contain one method of satisfying the objectives for Fire and Life Safety, however Fire Engineering allows alternative solutions to be pursued and encourages innovation to meet the performance provisions of the BCA.
BCA Logic has acted as a "peer reviewer" on a number of Performance based fire engineered alternative solutions for both the regulatory authority and/or the designer, as an independent body allowing for an objective assessment of a building proposal.
